Planning office
Interesting visit to the local planning office today. I wanted to have a chat to them just to get some sort of idea as to exactly what we would need planning for going forward. So I took along my grand plan to show them, spoke to a very nice lady at the desk who then passed me over to the planning officer. Well, what can I say…… I now understand why it is so difficult to get planning permission in this country to do things if they are all as anal as this bloke. I think he nearly had a heart attack when he saw my ambitious drawing. Basically, the bottom line is that we are going to need planning permission for pretty much everything, even if it’s just a change of use of the land. One good bit of advice he gave me was to put in an application for each thing separately, otherwise if we put in an application for everything all in one go, even if just one thing gets refused, they would have to refuse the whole thing even if everything else was approved. Makes sense, I guess. Each application also takes 8 weeks to either be approved or rejected, so best we find a site quickly.
So we live and learn…..
